PMMS PTSA Committees
Blood Drive:
Twice a year, PMMS hosts a community-wide blood drive, in partnership with the American Red Cross. This committee acts as a liaison with the Red Cross to coordinate dates and times for the Blood Drives. The committee also helps to schedule appointments for donations, as well as coordinate the volunteers who help staff the events.


Community Outreach:
This committee coordinates programs to benefit the community. Examples are back-to-school drives, clothing drives, food drives and community service projects.


Email Group:
Uses email notification system to pass along messages about PMMS events and activities.


Environmental:
Volunteers help with school grounds beautification, recycling and other environmental projects around PMMS.


Front Office Volunteers:
This committee coordinates volunteers who help administratively in the PMMS front office. Volunteers are arranged by shifts, five days a week.


Grade Parents:
Each grade level and each team within grades utilizes parent volunteers to help with various activities, including Honors Award events, and end-of-the-year celebrations. This committee works closely with the teachers to coordinate parent volunteers and donations for each of these events.


Hospitality:
This committee assists in supplying food and drink for various PTSA functions including Teacher Appreciation Week, Conference Week and others.


Legislative:
Assists with programs to educate parents on current legislative issues; present PTSA's position on these issues


Meet & Greet:
This committee oversees the annual back-to-school event in August. During the Meet & Greet event, students and families are able to join the PTSA, purchase Spirit Wear, participate in the Donation Drive, obtain their Agenda books, and much more.


Membership:
This committee implements ideas to promote and encourage membership in the PMMS PTSA, and coordinates the Membership Drive at the beginning of the school year.


Newsletter:
PMMS PTSA publishes and distributes a school newsletter several times throughout the year. This committee is responsible for gathering information, producing the newsletter, getting it printed, and distributed.


Partners in Education:
Acts as a liaison between PMMS' Partners in Education and the school.


Pizza Parties:
This committee coordinates the annual grade-level, after-school parties. Duties include arranging for entertainment (DJ), publicizing the event and selling advance tickets, and coordinating refreshments during the event.


Red Ribbon Week:
Assists in coordinating events for the annual, nationwide anti-drug campaign for students in the fall.


Reflections:
This committee coordinates the annual PTA-sponsored national competition of art, music, photography, video/film, dance and literature.


School Store:
Volunteers staff the school store several mornings before school. Items for purchase include spirit wear, and school supplies for the students such as pencils, lead, paper, notebooks, and Agendas.


Science Fair:
This committee works closely with the science teachers to help with the Science Fair, and duties may include helping to secure judges and coordinating volunteers


Spirit Wear:
This committee helps to design, order, and sell various PMMS spirit wear items throughout the school year.


Track and Field:
Committee works closely with the PMMS physical education teachers on coordinating the springtime Track and Field event.

Volunteer Coordinator:
Coordinates volunteers to help with various PTSA projects; works to increase parent and family involvement


Website Coordinator:
Gathers and publishes current information on the Pine Mountain Middle School PTSA Website.
